Installation
------------
Don't panic!

If you unzipped Automail OK, you should have ended up with
2 separate files. One will be this text file 8-)

The other is an SIS file.

If you *don't* know what a .SIS file is, this must be one of the
very first third party applications you've ever installed.
Don't worry, it's all quite painless. Just double-click on the
"automail.sis" file to launch the Nokia/Symbian installer
on the PC itself and to complete the installation.

If for any reason installation using the PC doesn't work,
the fail-safe technique is to manually copy the .SIS file
onto your communicator and activate it on the device itself
(for example, by pressing Enter on it in File Manager).

Finally, you'll probably have already added Symbian's OPL
Runtime patch to your Communicator, but on the off chance
that you haven't then go to
http://opl-dev.sourceforge.net/
and grab and install a copy. You need the OPL Runtime if
you want to be able to run any freeware and shareware
OPL programs. (I'm not allowed to include the SIS file
for you here, for legal reasons)

If all went well, you should now have a new "Automail" icon in your
Desk or Extras section (depending on your model).

Useage
------
When started, Automail asks how many email accounts you have set up
in Messaging. This is currently limited to three. It also confirms
which ones you want checked (just in case you don't want all checked).
In the same dialog, it asks which hours throughout the day you want
email fetched and whether you just want 'once per hour' retrieval or
'as often as practical'. This last option works out to about every
five or ten minutes in your specified 'active' hours, depending
on how many accounts you're checking.
(It has to allow a finite time for the actual retrieval process)

After this, Automail just shows a 'hibernating' screen. You can then
switch away to Desk or any other Communicator application, leaving
Automail sleeping in the background.

Tech notes
----------
All Automail does, once it's running, is switch to the Messaging
application (in the hours you specify), highlight the
appropriate account(s) and 'press' the third command button
('Retrieve email') for you.

OK, so it's a bit of a kludge, but it's free and it will hopefully prove
useful. Note that you'll probably have to manually stop and start it
before and after a PC Suite backup.
